Our smallest but still large Katzenteller für Katzen® (Cat Plate for Cats), the ‘180 - Porcelain Series’, with its generous inner diameter of 180 mm at the upper inner edge, is perfect for cats with shorter whiskers (up to approx. 7 cm whisker length). PORCELAIN SERIES STANDS FOR 'WHEEL-THROWN AND TURNED HARD-PORCELAIN 100% MADE IN GERMANY':

Crafted to the very highest standards – in a first class manufactory and using the highest-quality raw materials – the premium porcelain for Albanine & Knuffl® is fired at approximately 1400° Celsius to a very high strength. A complex, traditional process of semi-automatic wheel throwing and turning makes the 'white gold' of the Albanine & Knuffl® Porcelain Series approximately 40% more impact-resistant than today's conventional porcelain – which is usually pressed from granules in the Far East. Of course, only the first-class, albeit significantly more expensive, semi-automatically wheel-thrown and turned premium porcelain 'from the old days' is used for the Albanine & Knuffl® Katzenteller für Katzen® (Cat Plate for Cats).

The '180 - Porcelain Series' is extremely whisker-friendly – a pleasant eating experience for your cat:

The sheer size, the low 'food stay in the plate' rim , and the unique Albanine & Knuffl inner contour that minimizes whisker resistance in combination with an extremely smooth surface glaze for the lowest possible whisker friction reliably prevent extremely unpleasant whisker over-stimulation for your cat (a constant overloading of the nervous system). This is always extremely unpleasant for your cat and leads to so-called whisker stress syndrome in many cats. You can find more information about this here. The extremely smooth surface also significantly reduces the risk of permanent bacterial contamination.


FEED AT ROOM TEMPERATURE AND SPECIES-APPROPRIATE FEEDING

The extra high feet (foot rings) of approx. 4 mm ensure as little contact with the floor as possible and sufficient ground clearance. If the floor is cold or warm, the food will stay at room temperature for much longer – which is the best choice in most cases.
Several feet (foot rings) also ensure a better grip and a level base for evenly spreaded sauce.
Nevertheless, we at Albanine & Knuffl® endeavour to keep the overall height of the cat plate as low as possible in order to offer your cat the lowest possible feeding position and thus a species-appropriate eating posture.
