Very simple: flat and round! Flat, i.e. with the lowest possible rim/side wall – so low that the food just stays in. Why flat? Because of the whiskers! Why round? So that no food gets stuck in the corners.

The unique Albanine & Knuffl inner contour – our ‘food-stay-in-the-plate rim’ – is designed as a compromise: The food just barely stays in the plate, with the lowest possible whisker resistance or the best possible whisker deflection. Because the following applies: whisker stress, which is extremely unpleasant for your cat, should be avoided at all costs!
That's why all our Katzenteller für Katzen® (Cat Plates for Cats), regardless of their inner diameter and outer shape, have the same ‘food-stay-in-the-plate rim’ - i.e. the same rim height and the same inner contour that minimises whisker resistance.
